    What does an engagement typically look like?
    Five steps: understand the mess, map the system, build the operating layer, drive adoption, and measure the outcome. He owns the product architecture, requirements, delivery, and adoption, and coordinates vetted technical specialists when a build needs deeper engineering.
    How much does it cost?
    There is no fixed price list. Scope varies enormously between a two-week visibility fix and a multi-quarter operating platform, so pricing is set after a consultation that establishes what is breaking, what has to be built, and what the outcome is worth.     Both. Fractional product and systems leadership suits teams that need senior ownership over internal tools without a full-time hire. Fixed-scope projects suit a defined build such as a dashboard layer, an automation redesign, or an ERP module.
    Do you work remotely and internationally?
    Yes. Engagements are run remotely and clients are served worldwide, with working hours anchored to US Central time.

    How do you use AI in these systems?
    Deterministic business logic first, AI where judgment genuinely helps. Numbers, rules, and thresholds stay auditable and reproducible; AI is used to interpret, prioritize, summarize, and guide action on top of them. Every AI surface is grounded in the company's own data and keeps a human in the loop where the decision matters.
    What is AI governance and why does it matter?
    Governance is the layer that decides what an AI system is allowed to see and say: policy evaluation, guardrails, retrieval scoping, PII scanning, grounding verification, audit logging, and rate and cost controls. Without it, an assistant is a liability; with it, it is an operating tool. BrainMate is the platform where Alex built this layer.
    Do you build software yourself or manage developers?
    He designs and leads the build, and builds directly with low-code platforms, databases, dashboards, and AI workflows. For deeper engineering he coordinates trusted specialists while owning the architecture, requirements, and delivery.

    That is the normal starting point. Ingestion and normalization are the first two stages of almost every system he has built — MISH begins by turning inconsistent sales, cost, and margin data into a shape that can be reasoned about before anything is detected or interpreted.
